Pakistan AI Centers of Excellence (Pak AI CoE)
From Karachi’s 12-hub pilot to a 100-hub national AI skills and innovation grid.
High-Performance Computing and sectoral AI sandboxes
Pak AI CoE gives learners, trainers, startups, and institutions access to GPU-backed High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure and controlled data sandboxes — resources that no single institute can afford in isolation.
What HPC enables
- Training and fine-tuning of machine learning models.
- Simulation, optimization, and routing workloads.
- Heavy data processing for health, finance, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
- Standardized environments for benchmarking different institutes’ projects.
Sectoral AI sandboxes
- Health AI Sandbox: triage support, imaging workflows, capacity modeling.
- FinTech & GovTech Sandbox: fraud scoring, document automation, compliance analytics.
- Industrial AI Sandbox: predictive maintenance, quality inspection, IoT-integrated systems.
- GeoAI Sandbox: mapping, environmental modeling, transport optimization.
Why the sandbox model is essential
- Provides real datasets in a governed environment without exposing sensitive information.
- Allows industry and government to collaborate safely with TVET and universities.
- Creates hands-on experience that directly matches real-world jobs.
National scalability
- Each city hub plugs into the same HPC fabric.
- Standardized access APIs across all hubs.
- Unified security, monitoring, and data governance.
