Pakistan AI Centers of Excellence (Pak AI CoE)

From Karachi’s 12-hub pilot to a 100-hub national AI skills and innovation grid.

Designing schedules around women’s realities

Many women in Pakistan cannot attend traditional nine-to-five training because of household, caregiving and safety constraints. Pak AI CoE builds female participation into the timetable and operating model from day one.

Time slots that actually work

  • Morning and mid-day batches for women who prefer to travel in daylight.
  • Compressed three-day and weekend tracks for those balancing jobs and family duties.
  • Coordinated scheduling with partner institutions that already serve female students.

Environment and policies

  • Clear codes of conduct and reporting procedures for harassment-free learning spaces.
  • Dedicated female support staff and trainers in each hub where possible.
  • Batch formation and seating policies that reflect local cultural norms while preserving equal access to labs and equipment.

Linking training to safe employment

  • Partnerships with employers that can offer safe commute options or remote work.
  • Remote and hybrid roles in AI support, annotation, operations and development for women who cannot commute daily.
  • Career guidance focused on how skills translate into sustainable, dignified income for women in different life situations.
